For clinicians and care teams
Support between visits, inside clear boundaries.
BreatheFree is designed to do the work that does not fit into an appointment — the craving at midnight, the check-in on day nine, the week after a slip — without ever stepping into your role.
The boundary
What it does, and what it refuses to.
The most important design decisions in BreatheFree are the things it will not do. These are constraints in the product, not disclaimers in a footer.
- Educates on quit-smoking medicinesNever selects a medicine or changes a dose
- Records what the patient reportsDoes not confirm how a medicine was actually used
- Tracks self-rated craving intensityDoes not present ratings as clinical measurements
- Routes to quitlines, coaches and care teamsSends nothing until the patient previews and confirms
Between visits
What your patient actually gets.
- A tool for the craving itselfRate intensity on a 1–10 scale, receive one recommended coping tool matched to the trigger and to what has worked before, run it, then recheck. Offline, one-handed, no typing.
- A plan in the patient's own wordsTheir quit path, their date, their reasons, and one named supporter with an agreed phrase. Reviewed in full before it is activated.
- A history a slip does not eraseSlips are recorded as events within the history, with prior progress, lessons and coping practice explicitly retained. Missing check-ins are never counted as zero.
- Reviewed, plain-language educationShort lessons on cravings, withdrawal, sleep, medicines and support — in English and Spanish, with audio and transcripts.

Consent and sharing
Nothing reaches you by accident.
Care-team sharing in BreatheFree is manual by default. The patient previews exactly what would be sent and confirms it before anything leaves the device. Consent is reviewable and revocable, and revocation is enforced rather than merely recorded.
That is deliberate. A tool that quietly forwards a patient's smoking status to their chart is a tool patients learn to lie to.
Get involved
We would rather hear your objections now.
BreatheFree is in development. Clinical review of medication, withdrawal, pregnancy and urgent-symptom content is a release gate we have not yet passed — which makes this the useful moment to tell us what is wrong.
